The 2025 Kia Soul is available in four trims: the LX, S, GT-Line, and EX. The base LX trim comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels and multifocus reflector headlights. The S trim adds 16-inch alloy wheels and auto light control. The GT-Line features 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, gloss black exterior accents, a sport-styled front grille, roof rails, and two-tone paint options. The range-topping EX includes 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, a power sunroof, heated outside mirrors with LED turn signals, roof rails, and LED front fog lights.
Engine (Power)
All 2025 Soul trims are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 147 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 132 pound-feet of torque at 4,500 rpm. The engine features a DOHC 16-valve system with hydraulic lash adjustment, and power is managed through an Intelligent Variable Transmission. The Drive Mode Select system offers Normal, Sport, and Smart modes, allowing drivers to tailor the vehicle's response to their preferences.
Performance
The Soul accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8 seconds. The LX, S, and GT-Line trims deliver fuel economy ratings of 27 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, while the EX trim gets slightly better numbers at 29 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 31 mpg combined. The MacPherson strut front suspension and coupled torsion beam axle rear suspension provide balanced ride comfort. The Motor Driven Power Steering system offers a 12.8:1 steering ratio and a tight 34.8-foot turning circle. Braking power comes from 11-inch front vented discs and 10.3-inch rear solid discs.
Interior
The Soul provides 120.9 cubic feet of total interior volume, including 39.9 inches of front headroom and 41.1 inches of front legroom to stretch out and relax while driving. Cargo capacity measures 24.2 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to 62.1 cubic feet with seats folded. LX and S trims feature an 8-inch touchscreen and premium cloth seats, while GT-Line and EX trims upgrade to a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation and SynTex leatherette seating. All models include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. The EX adds heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and dual-zone automatic climate control for even more comfort. Available premium features include a 10-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging pad, and remote start capability.
Safety Features
Every Soul comes standard with forward collision-avoidance assist with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, lane following assist, and driver attention warning. The S, GT-Line, and EX trims add blind-spot collision warning and rear cross-traffic collision warning. GT-Line and EX models also feature Smart Cruise Control with navigation-based functionality. The Soul's safety structure includes dual front advanced airbags, front seat-mounted side airbags, and full-length side curtain airbags. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded Good ratings across all crashworthiness categories, while National Highway Traffic Safety Administration testing resulted in a four-star overall rating with a five-star side crash rating.
