If the Soul isn’t all-wheel drive, you’ve got two options left: front-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive. Like most vehicles, new Kia Soul models are front-wheel drive. If performance is your priority, though, the Soul offers some more options beyond AWD for life in Sumner or Puyallup

• Most Kia Soul trims are equipped with a 2.0L in-line 4-cylinder engine capable of delivering 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque.
• If you choose to upgrade to the GT Line or Turbo trim, your Kia Soul will have a 1.6L turbocharged in-line 4-cylinder engine. This powertrain generates up to 201 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque.
• Drivers who choose the base model will have their choice of a manual transmission or an intelligent variable transmission. The IVT is the standard option for most other Soul configurations.
• The GT Line and turbo trims feature a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

If you are still more interested in a Kia AWD vehicle, you do have a couple of great options. There’s the Kia Sorento, the Kia Sportage, or the Kia Stinger.
